In Law Enforcement I, students explore eight diverse Modules, each crafted to provide an in-depth understanding of key elements of law enforcement and criminal justice. Students will engage in a variety of learning activities including hands-on Projects, group discussions, and realistic simulations to discover the basics of law enforcement and court systems, as well as advanced crime scene investigation techniques. They will examine officer control and response, ethical community policing, criminal justice foundations, the impacts of crime on victims, and strategies for addressing family violence and abuse. Students will demonstrate their learned skills such as crash management and reporting, responding to hypothetical violent calls, and even forensic investigation as they complete Module Projects. The course prepares students with the skills and ethical grounding needed for potential future careers in law enforcement or further studies in criminal justice.
