In this comprehensive Introduction to Welding course, students develop essential skills and knowledge in various welding techniques and processes. Students learn about fundamental welding principles, safety protocols and equipment operation. They explore material preparation across multiple welding methods, including SMAW (Stick), GMAW (MIG), and oxy-fuel cutting, with an introduction to TIG welding. During hands-on Projects, students gain practical experience that includes mastering critical technical skills such as blueprint reading, measurement, and joint preparation. Throughout the course, students also develop professional workplace skills, including teamwork, communication, and ethical decision-making. With emphasis on both theory and application, this course provides students with a solid foundation in welding fundamentals, preparing them for entry-level positions in manufacturing, construction, and fabrication industries, or for further advanced welding education.
