Description:
In 4th grade Science, by using hands-on investigations, observations, and real-world applications of scientific principles, students explore a range of science concepts. Students begin with investigation skills and then dive into the study of matter and its properties. They explore natural resources and conservation impacts. Students learn about cycles and patterns such as the water cycle, weather, and sun, moon, and Earth patterns. Plant and animal Units focus on life cycles and living structures and functions, like inherited and acquired traits. Students also investigate ecosystems, examining food webs and how energy and matter flow and cycle. The final Units introduce physics concepts including forces, motion, and simple machines. Students explore the concepts of energy, energy transfer, and electrical circuits.
